The Ginkgo tree is native to Asia. Like the dawn redwood, it is considered a living fossil.
The ginkgo is more closely conifers than it is to flowering trees. To me, the form is similar to a larch.

Nyssa sylvatica – tupelo
The tupelo tree is native to the Eastern United States. It’s a great medium size tree without many insect or disease problems in Vancouver.
Dense lateral branches are perpendicular to the trunk.

Acer pseudoplatanus – Sycamore maple
Acer pseudoplatanus commonly called the sycamore maple is native to Europe and Western Asia, and can reach heights up to 30m.
Bears some resemblance to trees in the genus Platanus, which is where the Latin name pseudoplatanus comes from.
Acer cappadocicum – Cappadocian maple
Acer cappadocicum, commonly known as the Cappadocian maple is a native to the Caucasas, Himalayas and China can reach 20-25m in height.
