Acer pseudoplatanus – Sycamore maple

Acer pseudoplatanus commonly called the sycamore maple is native to Europe and Western Asia, and can reach heights up to 30m.

Serrated leaves are palmate with 3-5 lobes. Leaves are dark green with a red petiole.  Secondary veins run parallel to each other from the main veins.  Leaves are opposite.

Bears some resemblance to trees in the genus Platanuswhich is where the Latin name pseudoplatanus comes from.
